Our mission

We believe a stopwatch shouldn't ask you to sign up. A timer shouldn't bury its Start button under three banner ads. A simple online tool should open instantly, work exactly the way you expect, and stay out of your way.

stopwatch-online.com is a small project built around that idea. Every tool on this site loads in seconds, runs entirely in your browser, requires no account, and is free for personal and professional use.

What we offer

The site is a growing set of browser-based time tools. Each one does a single job and tries to do it well:

• Stopwatch: timing to the hundredth of a second, with unlimited laps and splits, the fastest and slowest lap highlighted, .xlsx export and keyboard shortcuts.
• Online Clock: the current time with seconds, a digital or analog face, and a full-screen mode.
• Timer: a clean countdown timer with labels, six alarm sounds and a list of recent timers.
• Alarm Clock: a browser alarm with a live clock, multiple alarms and quick presets.
• Pomodoro: the classic focus and break cycle, with session lengths you can change.
• World Clock: the time in the cities you pick, on a live day and night map.
• Age Calculator: your exact age in years, months, weeks and days, plus hours and minutes if you add a birth time.
• Holidays: public holidays in 138 countries, with a countdown to each one.

More tools are added over time. The list above is the current line-up; the menu in the top-left always reflects what's available.

What we believe in

Speed

Every page is static HTML with a few small CSS and JavaScript files of our own. There are no frameworks and no third-party widgets. The one library on the site is D3, which draws the world clock map; every other page runs on less than 45 KB of our own JavaScript.

Privacy by default

We don't ask for your name, your email or an account. The tools run in your browser: timings, laps, theme choices and recent timers are stored on your device, never on our servers. We do use Google Analytics to count visits, and our Privacy Policy explains what that collects and how to turn it off.

Accuracy

The stopwatch uses the browser's performance.now() high-resolution timer, which is sub-millisecond accurate on modern devices. We display centiseconds (1/100 of a second), the same precision most consumer and amateur sports stopwatches use.

No clutter

No newsletter pop-ups, no cookie walls demanding agreement before you can use the tool, no countdown to a paywall, no "premium" tier behind a sign-up. On the timing tools, the Start button is always the most obvious thing on the screen.

Works everywhere

Every tool works on desktop, tablet and phone, in any modern browser. Once a page is loaded, the tools keep working even if your internet connection drops.

How it works under the hood

This is a static website. There is no backend database, no user accounts, and no server-side logic to remember you. When you visit the stopwatch, your browser:

• Downloads the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for that single page.
• Renders the tool and waits for your input.
• Saves a small amount of state (your theme, plus the stopwatch's time and laps) in your browser's localStorage so the next visit picks up where you left off.
• Runs the timing locally. Nothing is sent to us while the stopwatch is counting.

That means your times and laps never leave your device.
